Frequently asked questions

Product, student data, and deployment questions for districts evaluating Obserion Parking and Security. Need direct help? Contact support.

Parking & student data

Who sets parking permit fees?

Your district or campus sets all permit amounts and payment policy. Obserion does not set fees, collect district revenue, or decide what students owe. The platform facilitates record-keeping so office staff can track whether a permit fee was paid.

Does Obserion store student payment or card information?

No. Obserion records permit fee status for the office — for example, paid or pending, method (cash, check, or card), and date received. Card checkout, when enabled, goes through your district’s secure payment processor. Obserion does not store card numbers, bank accounts, or other student financial credentials.

What happens to student parking data after graduation?

For K–12 and college deployments, Obserion can queue graduated student profiles for removal after a configurable grace period. Administrators can review each purge in verification mode, or run automatic cleanup when eligible.

What data is kept after a profile purge?

A purge removes sensitive contact and license data — such as personal email, phone, address, and driver’s license details. Operational records your office already relies on can remain: violations, vehicle plates, and permit fee status (paid or pending, method, and date) for reporting.

Does Obserion notify parents about parking violations?

No. Violations are logged as operational records. Your school handles parent or student communication through processes you already use — disciplinary workflows, student fees, or in-person office contact.

Security & door checks

What does the Obserion Security module do?

The Security module digitizes door checks and campus security accountability. Staff scan QR codes at entry points, log conditions, and build searchable, exportable audit trails administrators own.

Can Security run without Parking?

Yes. Each Obserion module runs on its own database. Deploy Security alone, Parking alone, or both under the Obserion Suite with shared organization login.

Platform & deployment

What is Obserion?

Obserion is a modular campus operations platform for schools and similar organizations. Modules include Security (door checks and accountability logs) and Parking (permits, vehicles, and violations). Each module uses tenant-isolated data storage.

How do students and staff sign in?

Use Find your organization on obserion.app to locate your district or campus portal, then sign in with your organization credentials. Students and employees use separate login paths configured per tenant.

Who controls student data in Obserion?

Your organization is the data controller. Obserion acts as a data processor, storing and securing information on behalf of the tenant under your policies and agreements.

Obserion subscription & billing

Is an Obserion subscription the same as a student parking permit fee?

No. Obserion subscription pricing covers your organization’s use of the platform. Student parking permit fees are set and collected by your district; Obserion only tracks permit fee status for office record-keeping.

How does our organization get access to Obserion?

Visit Get started or Pricing to submit your organization details, tier, and payment path (card or PO/invoice). Our team provisions your environment — typically within one business day.
